Justin Abrams has been a tax partner since January 2018. Prior to joining Kraft Berger in 2013 as a Senior Tax Manager, Justin was a Senior Tax Manager with a Big Four accounting firm. Clients value Justin’s technical expertise, as well as his ability to deliver efficient, client-driven solutions that meet their taxation and business objectives. Justin has completed parts I, II and III of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Taxation program, and is an annual facilitator at CPA Canada’s In-Depth tax program.

His main areas of practice include::

• Taxation of private entities, with a strong focus on owner-managers, high net worth individuals and their families
• Cross-border business structuring and taxation
• Corporate restructuring, estate planning, and corporate, personal, partnership and trust compliance
• Physicians and medical professional corporations
• Compensation planning for executives and their employees
• Acquisition and vendor planning

Although Justin’s main area of expertise is with private companies and owner-manager taxation, he also has experience in taxation of public companies, including the preparation and review of provisions under IFRS. Justin is knowledgeable in leading mergers and acquisitions, and has been involved in several reverse take-over transactions.

Justin graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University in 2006 and earned his CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2009. He is a frequent speaker at events for medical students and medical residents at universities across Southern Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
